One Area course and one Elective within the department: ANTH 897/898 Medical Anthropology Seminar in Selected Topics

Semester 4
3 electives (two of which possibly are from outside the department)
2 electives to be decided upon with the Program in Medical Anthropology faculty 4th semester paper or ANTH 993 and M.A. thesis

Year 3:

Semester 5
Quantitative Methods (ANTH 725) or a methods course in another department (e.g., BIOS 105 or BIOS 111), selected in consultation with medical anthropology committee
ANTH 897/898 Medical Anthropology Seminar in Selected Topics

Semester 6
Professional Preparation Course, e.g., ANTH 817
Complete Language Requirements
Take Ph.D. Written and Oral Examinations

Year 4:

Fieldwork
ANTH 994 (Doctoral Dissertation)
Electives from other departments should be made in consultation with the student’s advisor and, when formed, the advisory committee.
